1 Doing Everything Myself

When you’re an entrepreneur, it’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking that you have to do everything yourself in order to ensure that it’s done correctly. For me, I was the graphic designer, content writer, accountant, and also doing marketing on social media platforms. I had no time for family and friends.

This often leads to burnout and a lack of time to focus on the important tasks that will drive your business forward.

To overcome this, I assembled a team of A+ players and delegate tasks to them. This helps free up some time to focus on the most important and strategic tasks which are family, strategic branding design, and making more profits.

Additionally, it can help to develop the skills of your team members, making them more valuable assets to the company.

Unlearning the habit of doing everything yourself can be challenging, but it’s an important step in becoming a more successful entrepreneur. By delegating tasks, you’ll be able to increase efficiency, achieve your goals faster and build a stronger team.

2. Getting Things Done For Cheap

In my early years as an entrepreneur, working on a shoestring budget, I thought I could get things done for cheap and that it would work out okay. The honest truth is, every time I go cheap, I ended up paying triple (Some of us know that feeling)! Because we have to do it again.

and that’s like leaving money on the table and wasting valuable time. On the other hand, when you pay a premium price; Work gets done quickly, efficiently and with TOP QUALITY.

I’ve discovered over the years, quality is something that you should pay to get. It’s better to do something right or not do it at all. I always tell my prospect that if you pay peanuts, you will get monkeys, and that’s the honest truth.

The bitter part of it is that you might not know you are getting monkeys. That R400 logo design from a guy on Facebook that you think has all the whistles and bells since it has your company name under is damaging your reputation offline and online.

Honestly, I don’t blame you, what do you really know about logo, design, website, and marketing? You just want your business name on all of that stuff and you went for the cheapest, right? and I don’t blame the poor guy, he is just trying to make some quick bucks

On the other hand, when you seek expert help, who walks you through the process, show you a blueprint of it and you are ready to pay the premium price you will understand branding is an investment you will never regret and it will help you improve your business or company.

3. Having Scarcity Mindset

Entrepreneurs often fall into the trap of a scarcity mindset when they first start out, having the idea that there isn’t enough to go around.

A scarcity mindset leaves entrepreneurs feeling depleted, negative, and overwhelmed. It can sound like, “there’s already a business that focuses on a similar niche in my area, there’s no point in opening up my business,” or “there’s no one out there who could afford the fee I need to charge to sustain my business.”

The truth is there’s enough for everyone, more than enough. The universe is expansive. You just have to start solving bigger problems for your clients so they can start cutting you bigger checks.

Let me add by saying there are 2 mindsets I noticed among new entrepreneurs/startups:

Either “You have to spend money to make money” or “I’ll spend the bare minimum until I have some decent cash flow.. This can be harmful when taken to the extreme.

Invest great money in your business from strategy to branding. Your appearance( logo, social media profiles, cooperate identity, websites, and marketing materials) has to be top-notch.

Do this wisely, invest in professionals not quacks and you’ll thank me at your 10 years anniversary! Lol
