  1. Slide the heat-shrink protection sleeve over the fused joint.

Step 6: Verification and Handling

  1. Inspect the splice visually or with the splicer's imaging system to ensure proper alignment and minimal loss.
  2. Handle the spliced fiber carefully, maintaining a minimum bending radius (typically >30 mm) to prevent stress on the joint .
