OM3 is a laser-optimized multimode fiber (LOMMF) designed for high-speed networks using VCSELs (Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Lasers). Its outer jacket is standardized as aqua (hex: #00B6C1), which visually signals support for 10, 40, or 100 Gb/s over short distances, typically up to 300 meters at 10G Ethernet .
