Understanding the BiDi Transceiver

A single-fiber BiDi SFP (Small Form-Factor Pluggable) transceiver allows full-duplex communication over a single optical fiber by employing Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM). One wavelength is used for transmitting (TX) data, while a different wavelength is used for receiving (RX) data. For example, one module may transmit at 1310nm and receive at 1490nm, while the paired module on the other end uses the opposite configuration .
