Remote access to LAN switch

You can remotely access a network switch on a LAN using Telnet, SSH, or a web interface, with SSH being the most secure method.

• Ensure the switch has an IP address and HTTP/HTTPS service enabled.
• Open a web browser on a PC connected to the LAN.
• Enter the switch's IP address in the browser.
• Log in with admin credentials to view status, configure VLANs, ports, and other settings .

Security Considerations

• Use SSH over Telnet whenever possible.
• Change default usernames and passwords.
• Limit access to trusted IP addresses.
• Consider VLAN segmentation to isolate management traffic.

Advanced Remote Access Options

If you need to access the switch from outside the LAN:

• VPN: Connect securely to the LAN from a remote location.
