Our Client
Building ZaniPay — Borderless Exchange, Built for Africa.
ZaniPay is full-stack crypto and fiat currency exchange platform with integrated prepaid electricity token purchasing, designed and developed for the African market.
The Challenge
A fragmented financial landscape needed one unified solution.
Cross-border transactions between Nigeria and South Africa were slow, expensive, and opaque. Users had no reliable way to exchange NGN and ZAR, access crypto markets, or purchase essential utilities — all from a single, trusted platform.
- High fees and poor exchange rates from traditional remittance services
- No unified platform combining fiat exchange, crypto trading, and utility payments
- Lack of transparency in real-time exchange rates for the African corridor
- Cumbersome onboarding flows deterring new users from adopting digital finance
- No integrated prepaid electricity purchasing for South African users
Our Approach
Bennie Design Studio partnered with ZaniPay to design and build a comprehensive financial platform from the ground up — combining intuitive UX design with robust backend infrastructure to serve the Nigeria–South Africa financial corridor.
- Deep discovery workshops to map user journeys and pain points
- Dark-mode-first UI designed for trust, clarity, and speed
- Multi-step onboarding with identity verification built in
- Real-time exchange rate engine with live rate display
- Integrated prepaid electricity token purchasing module
- Comprehensive transaction history and support ticketing system
Platform Features
Everything users need,
in one place.
ZaniPay was architected as a full-service financial platform — not just a currency converter. Every feature was designed to reduce friction and build trust with users across two countries.
Fiat Currency Exchange
Seamless NGN ↔ ZAR exchange with live rates, transparent fees, and multiple payout options, including bank account and eWallet.
Crypto Trading
Buy and sell cryptocurrency directly within the platform. Supports crypto-to-fiat and fiat-to-crypto conversions with best-in-market rates.
Electricity Token Purchase
Purchase prepaid electricity tokens for any South African meter number instantly. Denominations from R100 to R1,000 available at the click of a button.
Transaction Dashboard
A clean, filterable transaction history showing exchange type, amount, status (Completed, Pending Payment, Pending Verification), and unique reference IDs.
Identity Verification
Multi-step KYC onboarding with identity document upload, bank detail verification, and security settings — ensuring regulatory compliance from day one.
Support Ticketing
Integrated support portal allowing users to submit, track, and manage tickets across Open, Responded, and Closed states — with 24/7 availability.
UI Screens
Designed with precision.
Built for trust.
Every screen was crafted to guide users through complex financial actions with clarity and confidence.
