Splice plates are the most widely used method for connecting cable tray sections in straight runs. We fix them with nuts and bolts through the holes in the plate and the tray sides. After you have drafted cable tray or conduit runs, you can break an individual segment, break an entire run, or merge multiple segments. In most cases, sections of wire mesh baskets or electrical cable trays are joined using couplers, bolts, or proprietary connector kits.
